Abstract |
Background: Positive and negative affections and quality of life are proven to be effective factors on gratitude and depression identification. Objectives: This study aimed to identify the relationship between positive and negative affections, quality of life and mediating role of gratitude and depression among employees. Methods: Data collection was done Quality of Life Index, Beck’s Depression Inventory and Positive Affect Negative Affect Scale (PANAS) in a descriptive-correlational way and while it is specifically based on path-analysis. Statistical universe included all employees of Tehran municipality and sample consisted of 200 employees of Tehran municipality, who were selected by convenience sampling. Then, path-analysis was used to analyze and interpret the hypotheses using SPSS version 23 and LISREL version 8.5. Results: 20% of depression and 31% of the gratitude are predicted through negative affection while 92% of quality of life changes depend on depression, gratitude, positive and negative affections (p<0.05). Conclusion: Positive affections can only directly predict quality of life while negatives can both directly and indirectly predict it through the impact on depression and gratitude.
